Here is another WIP I finally completed. It's a key purse with zipper compartment.
The fabric is very adorable with russian dolls, deers, owls, squirrels, birds...! I bought it years ago and after sharing with many online friends, I only have a very small piece left. So precious! I think it's from Kokka Japan and it's already out-of-print.
This is the back of the purse. I used red hand quilting thread to quilt around the purse before sewing the binding then the zipper. There's a layer of soft batting between the fabric layers.
You can hang many keys on the outside and there's even a swirl hook for you to hang other ornaments or accessories.
Except for a part of binding which I used machine, the rest of the purse is entirely hand sewn. I love how rustic it looks and feels.
The zipper compartment is big enough to put many coins, money notes, or even small cosmetics like lippy. I used the same polka dots fabric for the binding and interior.
This purse will be in my etsy shop soon!
There are so many WIP I'm trying hard to finish up instead of seeing them lying around. I think I've been quite productive in sewing this year. Now after all the hand sewing, I'm missing my sewing machine a little...
