I had this idea to make something from this fabric for my wall for a long time.
This fabric is just the cutest.
I cut out the cute panels and started piecing them with a few random squares. I usually have many odd squares lying around everywhere. Then, the patchwork idea came very quickly and it really brought my sewing mojo back.
There is no pattern to this mini quilt. I always sew on impulse. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... When the sewing fails, I have to stop for a cuppa coffee and start all over again.
I'm very happy how this mini quilt turned out. It looks so pretty on my wall now. Every stitch is handsewn and handquilted. It gives me so much satisfaction to sew by hand.
The backing is beautiful too. And the binding is my favourite polka dots on linen.
Oh, it feels so spring-y now I'm looking at it. My daughter just claimed it to be hers and is now trying to take it down the wall to hang above her bedrest.
