Hello everyone! I hope all of you have had a great time following this blog hop, seeing all the talented bloggers sewing something (or many things) from this amazing book. Originally in Japanese language, Zakka Workshop did a really wonderful job translating most of projects into English. It means we do not have to struggle figuring out the diagrams anymore trying to sew everything from the book anymore!
Well, let me first show you what I have been sewing...
Hearts Coaster - filled with so much love!
I made this just before Valentines' Day and it was so enjoyable handsewing it! Yes, completely handsewn! Do you know the coaster is reversible too? I bet you cannot tell!
I did not quite follow the method of leaving a small opening at the back. I used the most conventional way to leave the opening at the side of the heart before whip stitching it close.
Hand quilting never fails.
Oh the french knots are so adorable.
Connected hearts.
Puffy full of love.
One of my favourite prints!
This is the reversible side! I love it as much as the front.
Another sweet birdie!
Flowers and ribbons.
Even now that Valentines' day is over, this Heart Coaster still sits on the main table in the living room. I just can't get enough of it.
Project number two is the Lunch Tote! It was a mad rush sewing this (as I am in the midst of house moving right now). I was SO HAPPY to finish the last stitch and it turned out so much prettier than I expected.
Note: After quilting, the patchwork piece will tend to shrink a little. You have to shorten the lining fabric and facing fabric to match the length of the top edge of the tote.
The patchwork is machine sewn with hand quilting details.
This lunch tote has so many details like the circle ends and folded down binding.
The inside of the pouch as yummy as the outside. More juicy strawberries.
Pull string in yellow.
Little handmade tag at the side.
Of course I need to show you the special strawberry handles! SO PRETTY! And a perfect size for this small tote.
The handles are handsewn. Look at the french knots again. Pink this time.
Thank you Lecien for sending the beautiful Retro 30s Child Smile Fall 2016 bundle and strawberry handles for this lunch tote! It couldn't be more wonderful!
